David Coombes is an historian interested in Australian military history -- especially the AIF's involvement in World War I.
Current Research Interests:
  • How the AIF responded to technological advancements, on the Western Front, in World War One
  • Comparison of Australian and Canadian achievements on the Western Front
  • The Surafend Incident in Palestine, 1918
Current Research Projects:
  • Completing and editing "A Greater Sum of Sorrow: the AIF and two battles of Bullecourt"
  • Researching and writing -
