Biography
 
Dr Ratcliffe has been married for over 40 years and has two children. His basic medical training was in London and he worked mainly in in UK until 1985 when he emigrated to Brisbane. Prior to emigration, Dr Ratcliffe had worked in Saigon (1969-70) and in Zambia (1973-75). In Brisbane, Dr Ratcliffe was a medical specialist in the diagnostic radiology of children at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Mater Children’s Hospitals. He retired from full time medical work in 2001 and enrolled in that year courses in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Queensland achieving the PhD in 2014.
 
Activities:
 
Dr Ratcliffe is an active supporter of Classics and Ancient History through the Queensland Friends of Antiquity.
